Before you move in, there are a few steps to prepare for:
Final Walkthrough
- Before your closing day, you will take a final survey of the home. This will give you the opportunity to verify that everything is in working order and is ready for you to move in.
Transferring Services and Utilities
- Your agent will provide you with a guide with useful numbers and websites to activate your utilities and home services.
Closing Day
- You will receive a final settlement statement from your closing agent. This document will provide you with the details of the financial transaction. You and the sellers will sign the document, and it will also be signed and verified by the closing agent. If you are unable to attend your closing, please let your agent know as soon as possible so proper accommodations can be made. If you need to bring funds to closing, the closing agency will coordinate if it is best to wire funds or to bring a certified bank check. Your agent will arrange to have the keys and any other important information ready for you at this time.
